Bobbejaans River Waterfall, Wellington

The Bobbejaansrivier Trail boasts an amazing and spectacular waterfall. The hike to the lower pool is easy with lots of waterfalls along the way. The lower pool itself is beautiful. The path is very clear and the climb quite gradual. However, getting to the top waterfall is not easy. Climbing through a small hole between the large boulder and the rock face to the right of the lower pool and then swimming through a large pool and climbing up a steep and slippery slope using the rope which is attached to a tree. At which point be prepared to be blown away by the sheer impressiveness of the waterfall. A permit is required for this hike which can be obtained from the Bainskloof Office or further on at the Tweede Tol campsite.
