Platteklip Gorge to Upper Cable Station, Table Mountain National Park
Platteklip Gorge is the oldest and most direct hiking route up Table Mountain. It is very well marked and takes about 2 hrs to complete. There is barely an shade on this route until you approach the summit and can be extremely hot during the summer months so a good sunhat and sunscreen is advised. it is the suggested route for amateurs and first time Table Mountain hikers as it is very difficult to get lost. You can choose to walk around at the top and then walk back down or cable car down and then head back to the trailhead along the tar road.
Cost of cable car down for clients expense. Please check the Table Mountain website for a detailed price list but tickets vary from R70 to R420 depending on the time of your visit, your age or whether or not you are booking a return or one way ticket.
